Alty’s Open New Builders Merchant Branch in Chorley

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2016

Builders Merchant Chorley

Opening our new builders merchant in Chorley

Independent Builders Merchant, Henry Alty Limited, opened their brand new builder’s merchant branch in Chorley on Monday 1st February.

The development, which cost in excess of £1m, is located next to Asda on Bolton Street. It is the second builder’s merchant branch for the family-owned business which has been in the trade for over 130 years.

The 1.5 acre Chorley site includes a large shop stocked with building and DIY products from leading brands such as Celotex, Knauf, Everbuild and Brett Martin.  Loose aggregates, bricks, landscaping and timber products are available in the dedicated yard and warehouse facility.

Alty’s also have timber cutting facilities on site and a fleet of tipper and crane off-loading vehicles for deliveries across the North West.

Stephen Gautrey, Managing Director of Henry Alty, said:

“We made the decision to expand the Builders Merchant side of our business in 2014. We spent a long time researching different areas in Lancashire, before making the decision to locate in Chorley. We feel that our new Chorley base will meet the needs of local trades-people and we will benefit from the access to major road networks so we can service our customers more efficiently.

“We’re confident that our new Builders Merchant will be a fantastic asset to trades people in the area. We’re a member of national buying group h&b which means that we can offer our customers competitive prices on our large product range. We’re regarded as a one-stop shop by many in the building trade.

“The growth of the construction sector in general is encouraging and we have already recruited six local people at our new branch. We hope to increase this number as the business grows.”

Alty’s was officially opened on Monday 1st February by Chorley FC Manager Matt Jansen and is open six days a week for both the trade and general public.
